Salmon oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids. These belong to the essential fatty acids and, as such, cannot be produced by our bodies themselves. Because these unsaturated fatty acids are indispensable for certain central processes in our organism, we must regularly intake sufficient amounts of omega-3 fatty acids with our food.
The omega-3 fatty acids contained in salmon or fish oil are used among other things
- for hormonal balance
- in immune system
- for the reduction of inflammation
- in the balance of blood fats (cholesterol, triglycerides) and
- in the development of the brain, intelligence and vision.
At a time, in which most of us are exposed to increasing burdens through stress and environmental toxins, omega-3 fatty acids can contribute to healthy stress management and improved discharge of harmful substances. A sufficient supply of omega-3 fatty acids can also help to maintain elasticity of the blood vessels and counteract hormonal regulation disorders.
Oils from cold-water fish, such as salmon oil, are particularly rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
These should additionally contain vitamin E, which works naturally as an antioxidant. We recommend two to three meals comprised of fish per week. If you do not have many opportunities to eat sea fish or you simply do not prefer fish, you should additionally cover your need for omega-3 fatty acids through salmon oil or fish oil capsules.
