Acerola zinc - two essential micronutrients in one: the trace element zinc and vitamin C (ascorbic acid). Both are important immune nutrients and protect our cells from oxidative stress by scavenging "free radicals" generated in normal metabolism, but also through UV radiation, nicotine and medications and promote skin aging. In addition, both antioxidants arein demand as immune and metabolic nutrients: zinc alone is a component of over 300 enzymes in the metabolism.
Fresh fruit and vegetables are considered as the best sources of vitamin C. The acerola cherry has a record-breaking high vitamin C content - making it the perfect source of vitamin C for acerola zinc.
Good sources of zinc are meat, eggs, milk and nuts. However, whole grain products and legumes contain zinc as well as phytate, which binds zinc and makes it more difficult to absorb in the intestine. To ensure that the zinc can be absorbed and processed efficiently, we use pure zinc gluconate with high bioavailability for Acerola Zinc. By avoiding additives, we also improve the absorption of zinc and the tolerability of acerola zinc.
