Itis-Protect® is a food for special medical purposes (balanced diet) for the dietary management of periodontitis. With its four phases, it provides the body with a wide range of predominantly essential vitamins, trace elements and minerals over four months. It also contains omega fatty acids from fish and black cumin oil, which, like vitamin D, our body can synthesise in limited quantities.
A speciality of Itis-Protect® II-IV are three viable cultures of bacteria that naturally colonise the intestine: 109 each of the lactic acid bacteria Bifidobacterium lactis and Lactobacillus acidophilus as well as Streptococcus faecium as a typical inhabitant of the large intestine.
Periodontitis is associated with a deficiency of micronutrients. The balanced diet Itis-Protect® supplies - in addition to a healthy diet - high-purity micronutrients and intestinal symbionts. It heals inflammation in 60 % of cases, supports the regeneration of the tissue in which the teeth are anchored and reduces tooth loss. Itis-Protect® even works on severe chronic periodontitis - according to the results of a study*. The innovative concept was honoured with the CAM Award in 2013.
