Oral coffee enema for bowel cleansing

According to dermatologist Dr. Leonie Nahberger, head of the Detox Clinic Lübeck, environmental toxins such as heavy metals can also play a role in chronic skin diseases, in addition to diet, micronutrient balance, the intestinal microbiome and chronic infections.
In practice, she not only works with metal-binding chelators such as DMPS, but also supports detoxification with gentle methods such as the oral coffee enema with activated charcoal according to a recipe by Dr Joachim Mutter [1]. .
The oral coffee enema is primarily used for morning bowel cleansing and should therefore be performed in the morning on an empty stomach. The main components are coffee, activated charcoal and linseed.
- Activated charcoal is a classic binding agent that is not absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract. During its journey through the intestine, activated charcoal binds harmful substances, which it then excretes in the faeces. To compensate for the constipating effect of activated charcoal, it is combined with linseed and coffee in an oral coffee enema.
- Coffee stimulates the formation of stomach acid, the emptying of the gallbladder as well as the movement of the bowel (intestinal peristalsis) and bowel movements.
- Linseed increases stool volume and also promotes intestinal peristalsis. As an ‘internal exfoliant’, they can also help to loosen deposits in the bowel and promote their elimination.

And this is how it's done:
- Drink 2-3 tablets of medicinal activated charcoal or a heaped teaspoon of lime charcoal with a cup of organic black coffee (e.g. gentle coffee from Gepa)
- Pour boiling water over 3-6 tablespoons of whole organic linseeds until they are well covered, add 1 shot of coffee and leave to swell for 5 min. Flavour with cardamom, vanilla or cinnamon according to taste and take by the spoonful
- 20 minutes later, supplement micronutrients without additives if necessary
It is important that the coffee is really drunk black, i.e. without ‘oat milk’ or other milk alternatives. Unfortunately, decaffeinated coffee does not work well. Possible alternatives are black tea and green tea. If you want to avoid caffeine or teein, you can also take it with pure water.
